Bodevolve, is the first and only cosmetic surgery center in Colorado to offer patients the most natural method of facial, breast and body enhancement, the Stem Cell Enriched Fat Transfer.
Cell Enriched Cosmetic surgery allows you to use your own fatty tissue, enriched with stem and regenerative cells, to shape and enhance your body without introducing foreign material. Once the fatty tissue is aspirated, your stem and regenerative cells are extracted, processed, and combined with an additional sample of your fat to be reintroduced to the desired location.
Once transferred back into the body, the cell enriched fat will integrate with your existing tissue, enhancing your body and providing a longer lasting, more durable result then the standard fat transfer.
Introducing VASER Hi Def , and now Stem Cell Enriched Cosmetic Surgery, the surgeons at bodevolve are the leaders in offering patients cutting edge techniques and the most advanced technology. Look for our latest ad in Cherry Creek Magazine.
Actor Blair Underwood of NBC's The Event was recently on The Doctors show asking the universal question that many men have "how do I maintain my six pack abs as I age?" The surgeons at bod:evolve have made plastic surgery for men become increasingly popular, and more accepted, because of procedures such as VASER Hi Def lipo, a body sculpting technique that brings out the underlying muscle structure that is being covered by a layer of fat.
" I think male body contouring is becoming more popular because the knowledge that this procedure exists is finally getting out to the community. One person tells the next, and it spreads. With VASER Hi Def, the way that we approach the patient is a bit different, because we are trying to bring out anatomical detail," explains Dr. Broadway in an American Health and Beauty article. More and more men are choosing to have plastic surgery because technology has advanced, allowing body contouring procedures to be taken to the next level.
Lipo is no longer only for the patient who is looking to jump start their weight loss program. Many of the our male bod:evolve patients are currently physically fit, but are having a difficult time removing that last little bit of fat from a specific area of the body. The bod:evolve surgeons can literally sculpt the ideal physique men might be looking for. VASER ultrasound lipo offers fat reduction and precision sculpting to highlight muscles, and our Pure Graft system offers cell enriched fat to be transferred back into the male pecs enhancing the pectoralis major muscle.
With summer right the corner, this is an excellent time to schedule your consultation with Dr. Broadway to learn more about plastic surgery options for men, including gynecomastia. Our office is gender friendly, with male patients constantly walking through our door. You won't feel out of place when you come to bod:evolve!
Dr. Broadway and his bod:evolve partners are the first, and only, plastic surgery practice in Colorado to offer their patients stem cell enriched fat transfer procedures. This advanced technology takes the patients adipose tissue that is aspirated during their liposculpture procedure, and essentially cleans it free of water, tumescent fluid and other unnecessary debris. This adipose tissue is then processed so that stem and regenerative cells are extracted, and later combined with an additional sample of the patients adipose tissue to form a cell enriched graft. The use of regenerative cells in the graft allows that fat to integrate better with the existing tissue when transferred back into the desired location.
The surgeons at bod:evolve are proud to be one of the first in the nation to offer their cosmetic surgery patients a natural technique to shape and contour the body. The cell enriched fat transfer procedure can be used to enhance the breasts, buttocks, face and traumatic scars, and the pure fat graft allows for a longer more durable result.

Dr. Broadway is one of the first surgeons in Colorado to offer his plastic surgery patients cell-enriched fat transfer surgeries, as well as the option of fat cell preservation for future fat transfer procedures. Always a leader in offering the most advanced technologies, Dr. Broadway offers his patients cutting edge techniques to shape the most ideal physique.
From enhancing to sculpting, injecting to preserving, Dr. Broadway is the one best in the business for a reason. Currently booking into late April for most consultations, don't wait another day to take the first step toward your 2011 plastic surgery procedure. You might miss the boat for a beautiful bikini body!
Dr. Broadway at bod:evolve is proud to offer his Denver fat transfer patients, the option of cell-enriched fat transfer during their cosmetic surgery procedure. Transferring fat from an unwanted area of the body to an area of need, has a history of over 100 years in plastic and reconstructive surgery practices. The advantages of utilizing fat vs. buttock or breast implants:
- it's your own tissue
- it's typically available and easy to access
- it can produce very natural looking results
The surgeons at bod:evolve continue to be leaders in cutting edge procedures by offering their patients the most advanced surgical equipment on the market. Cell-enriched fat grafting allows the surgeon to spin out and clean the fat, eliminating water, tumescent fluid and other unnecessary debris. These enriched cells are then transferred back into the patient, and are believed to promote a better fat graft survival because they carry more oxygen and nutrients, and can integrate more successfully with surrounding tissue. Clinical studies have consistently shown that cell enriched cosmetic surgery procedures provide more durable and longer lasting results.
If you would like to learn more about cell enriched fat transfer procedures that Dr. Broadway offers his Denver plastic surgery patients, please contact us today to schedule your informative consultation.
Dr. Broadway was featured in the September/October Aesthetic Guide Clinical Roundtable discussion, offering answers to some of the most commonly asked questions in regard to the newest version of the VASER 2.0 lipo system. During the round table 7 plastic surgeons share their knowledge and clinical expereince with the VASER ultrasound technology, autologous fat grafting, and the VASER Hi Def technique.
The VASER lipo system has been a popular choice for plastic surgeons because the ultrasound technology preserves connective tissue which makes for an easier recovery. The system can be used on bigger patients that need large volume debulking, as well as very lean and fit patients who are looking to take their body to the optimal athletic physique.
VASER technology has opened the door to a completely new demographic of patients, and plastic surgeons can now cater to more men who are looking to eliminate their gut or looking to optimize their six pack abs. Women can expect a beautiful, lean silhouette, and use the fat taken from their abdomen or flanks and transfer it back into their buttocks. You could never do that with traditional tumescent liposuction. The fat was destroyed and lost it's viability to survive.
To learn more about VASER and other Denver lipo options please contact our office to schedule your consultation with one of the best lipo surgeons in Colorado, Dr. David Broadway.
Dr. Broadway @ bod:evolve is one of the first plastic surgeons in Colorado to offer his lipo patients, stem cell preservation. This innovative treatment, which is advancing quickly in the cosmetic surgery field, allows patients to remove fat and preserve it for future fat transfer procedures to the face, breasts or buttocks.
Everyday science and technology continues to advance at an alarming quick pace. Patients used to ask Dr. Broadway why he couldn't take fat from one less desired area of the body, and transfer it to a more desirable location. For years the technique was in research to be perfected, but now this treatment is no longer a dream of the past, but a successful cosmetic surgery procedure that Dr. Broadway performs at least once a week.
Science has taken another step forward for plastic and reconstructive surgery patients. Take fat from your body today, to restore volume lost in the future. You may be in your mid 30's today and not noticing the volume in your face beginning to disappear, but in another 20 years, inevitably we experience increased skin elasticity as our collegan fibers begin to breakdown . If you had preserved the fat that you removed in your 30's during your VASER Hi Def lipo procedure, now that you are 50, you have an option to replace that volume with your own fatty tissue.
Surgeons are beginning to rely more and more on the use of fat as a natural filler during cosmetic surgery and reconstructive procedures. The process is very simple for the patient. During your liposuction procedure, adipose cells and tissue are aspirated using VASER ultrasound technology. The fat is immediately shipped to a cell bank in Dallas, Texas where it is processed and preserved through cryopreservation. This process allows that fat to retains it's viability for your future fat transfer procedure to the face, breasts or buttocks.
There are a number if good reasons to store your fat for future use, not only for cosmetic purposes but cancer reconstruction, and wound care. Dr. Broadway is excited to now offer stem cell preservation to his Denver plastic surgery patients.
Recently I have noticed that many our of Denver lipo patients are confused about the different lipo technologies, and which method is best for them. Patients usually come to the consultation believing they want SmartLipo laser technology, which Dr. Broadway offers his cosmetic surgery patients, but often times these patients are not fully educated as to what they are asking for, and what limitations they face utilizing laser technology vs. VASER ultrasound technology. I'm not writing this blog to state one is better than the other, but to merely let patients understand the uniqueness of each technology so they can make the best decisions for their upcoming lipo surgery.
The SmartLipo laser is an advanced piece of equipment that has been marketed by the manufacturer as a less invasive form of lipo. Traditional lipo did not melt the fat but instead the surgeon was aspirating larger chunks of fat, which intern caused disruption of connective tissue and blood vessels. This caused more internal bleeding and more bruising for the patient. The result debulked patients, but they had a tougher recovery, and limited skin contraction. In 2006 the FDA approved the SmartLipo machine created by Cynosure. This cutting edge technology allowed the surgeon to use a much smaller cannula which melts the fat into more of a liquid consistency, allowing for easier aspiration and less damage to vital connective tissue. The patient experiences less bruising, swelling and will achieve overall better skin contraction.
The laser lipo is a great option for patients who have one localized area of fat, such as the abdomen. This procedure can be performed under LOCAL sedation, and because it's one small surface area, the recovery can be a little easier and a little quicker. The Laser technology offers good skin contraction in the weeks following the procedure, and Hi Def techniques can be offered. However, if patients are looking to have more than one surface area sculpted, such as the abdomen and the flanks, we can no longer offer the procedure under LOCAL sedation. If the procedure is longer than 3 hours, Dr. Broadway will perform the surgery in the main OR under IV sedation with a walking epidural, and will at this point recommend using VASER technology.
Dr. Broadway patient- VASER Hi abdomen and flanks with fat transfer to buttocks.
VASER ultrasound technology is the number one lipo technology that Dr. Broadway offers his Lone Tree lipo patients. The ultrasonic waves break up and separate the fat cells, which like laser lipo, makes the aspiration much easier for the surgeon, and causes less damage to the internal tissue. This ultrasound technology is often coupled with the Hi Def technique to give patients a highly sculpted, athletic physique. Another big benefit of VASER vs. SmartLipo is that the ultrasound technology does not destroy the fat. The process allows the fat to maintain it's viability so that it can be transferred back into areas such as the buttocks, face, breasts, or traumatic scars. Dr. Broadway performs almost one fat transfer procedure per week, with the most popular being the fat transfer to the buttocks, and the fat transfer to the face in conjunction with a facelift.
Again, this blog is to give a very brief explanation of the difference lipo technologies. Both are cutting edge, and both offer their own unique qualities. A consultation with Dr. Broadway is the best way to learn which treatment is best for you so that you can achive YOUR most desired result.
The tummy tuck procedure is one of the most complex and intense plastic surgery procedures that Dr. Broadway's Denver cosmetic surgery patients can choose to have. There is a difference between what surgeons offer when performing the abdominoplasty procedure, and when consulting with different surgeons be sure ask yourself "do I want a good tummy tuck or a great tummy tuck? And how can I tell the difference when I consult with surgeons?"
Below are the top ten questions that Dr. Broadway and his staff receive in regard to the tummy flattening procedure, the abdominoplasty.
1. What does a tummy tuck consist of?
The abdominoplasty procedure is really three surgeries in one. It's complex, and it's 3 components should be tailored toward the patients specific needs. Typically a full tummy tuck will include abdominal muscle repair, fat removal and skin removal. How each of these is addressed will determine the outcome of the procedure. A tummy tuck surgery takes time, and typically you should be quoted anywhere from 4-6 hours for the procedure, depending on the size of the patient. This is not an in-and-out procedure, and if you are quoted less than 3 hours, really make sure you ask the appropriate questions as to what your surgery will entail.
2. How long is the recovery after a tummy tuck?
Typically Dr. Broadway requests his Denver tummy tuck patients do very light activity for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery. This can vary however depending on the length of the patients procedure, as well as the patients individual pain tolerance. We don't want you completely sedentary after your surgery, but we also don't want you lifting a full laundry basket, or vacuuming the house. Be good to your body, be compliant with Dr. Broadway's post operative instructions, and your recovery time will be reduced. We encourage patients to avoid intense exercise and lifting very heavy objects for the first 6-8 weeks after surgery. Although you can begin to perform light exercises 3-4 weeks after surgery, you always want to ease back into it, and listen to your body.
3. What does the tummy tuck incision look like?
The incision placement, and length, will be determined by you and Dr. Broadway during your Pre Op appointment. However, we like patients to understand the longer the incision, meaning from hip to hip, most likely the more aggressive Dr. Broadway can be in removing extra skin. The incision heals very nicely over time, but expect up to a year for it begin to turn into a less noticeable incision. This is another reason to choose a plastic surgeon who takes their time during your tummy tuck. Slower surgeons are more precise, and their incisions are much straighter. Please also be aware that the patients ethnic background can play a role in the color and texture of the incision.
4. What can tummy tuck patients do to help their incision heal faster?
Patient dependent factors will play a role in how well your incision heals after surgery. These factors can include genetics and the patients overall health. The healthier the patient, the quicker the incision will heal. We encourage patients to eat lean protein, stay hydrated, and get good sleep before and immediately following their tummy tuck surgery. One of the most important factors that the patient can control is to STOP smoking more than 1 month prior to surgery. This is a requirement by Dr. Broadway. If you are smoking before and after surgery, you have a very high chance of developing skin necrosis, and potentially ruining the overall result of your tummy tuck.
5. What is Skin Necrosis?
Skin Necrosis is loss of skin usually due to poor blood supply. This can occur in any patient, but typically is seen in patients who are smokers. Dr. Broadway requires patients to stop smoking four weeks prior to surgery and 4 weeks post operatively, however the most appropriate length of time can be debatable. Even patients who quit smoking before their surgery can experience skin necrosis, because they have damaged the delivery of their blood supply to areas of the body. This skin loss continues to produce wounds that open, and take a long time to heal. This can play a significant role in widening the incision, and again overall affecting the outcome of your surgery. Skin Necrosis is much less common in non smokers.
6. Does Dr. Broadway utilize drains after his tummy tuck procedures?
Dr. Broadway will place 2-3 drains in your abdomen after surgery. These drains will help to reduce swelling, and assist your body so it doesn't have to work as hard to eliminate fluid build up. Patients whose tummy tucks are more extensive, or where more lipo is performed, should expect more fluid build up, swelling, and having their drains in longer. The recovery is not a perfect science and can vary significantly depending on the patient. Typically the drains are in for 1-2 weeks post op, however it's not out of the question to have a remaining drain 6-8 weeks after surgery.
7. Should I loose weight before my tummy tuck procedure?
The outcome of your surgery can be more positive the closer you are to your ideal weight. Dr. Broadway encourages patients to reach a weight that they feel they can maintain after surgery. If patients have a lot of excess abdominal fat, Dr. Broadway is limited as to how much lipo he can do and how aggressive he can be, while keeping the patient safe.
8. Does Dr. Broadway encourage massage therapy after a tummy tuck?
With most of his cosmetic surgery procedures, Dr. Broadway will encourage post op massage therapy with one of our bodevolve massage therapists. Your first treatment, at your two day post op check up, is complimentary from Dr. Broadway. Post op massage therapy will help to increase blood flow, reduce swelling and, and speed up the recovery process. We encourage tummy tuck patients to repeat these sessions for the first week after surgery.
9. What are "dog ears" in reference to a tummy tuck?
Dog ears are folds in the skin and fat, and usually appear at the end of the incision around the hip area. These can flatten on their own, or may have to be repaired with a significantly easy in office procedure. If this occurs after surgery, Dr. Broadway will watch the incision for up to a year. If at that point the dog ear does not flatten by itself, Dr. Broadway will revise the incision. This can be a common occurance after any tummy tuck, and one in which every plastic surgeon has experienced.
10. Can you repair a hernia during the tummy tuck surgery?
Hernia repair in conjunction with a tummy tuck is very common. Dr. Broadway will feel for a hernia during your consultation, and if one is found, he will refer you to one of the general plastic surgeons that has privileges at Renewal Surgery Center, so that this can be fixed during your tummy tuck surgery.
Abdominoplasty surgery is one of the most popular procedures that Dr. Broadway offers his Colorado cosmetic surgery patients. Although the surgery is more complex, and requires a good commitment from the patient in terms of recovery, the outcome can change how you feel about yourself. Patients that have been through pregnancy or dramatic weight loss often feel discouraged because even after all the hard work in the gym, and watching what they eat, they still can't get their tummies as flat as they once you used to be.
With the help of one of the best and more experienced plastic surgeons in the business, you can achieve that pre baby or pre weight gain stomach. We look forward to meeting you during your initial consultation and helping you to fully understand your upcoming tummy tuck surgery.
