Denver, Lone Tree and Boulder, Colorado

No pain, no gain may be the uncomfortable truth for women preparing for breast augmentation. But, the pain is short-lived and well-tolerated by the majority of women. That is the reason that Dr. Broadway developed the bod:evolve wellness center and nutritional formulations that, when taken prior to breast augmentation surgery as well as afterwards, help to prepare your body for faster healing. Breast augmentation recovery after the first week becomes easier, but still requires diligent attention to your care.

Long-Term Commitment

With Dr. Broadway’s counseling you will learn how to care for your newly augmented breasts in the weeks following surgery. The first week is one with many restrictions, but once your sutures and drain are removed, you can, in stages, resume your normal daily activities. Meanwhile, you need to be aware of how your body will respond and how to care for it during its gradual adaptation.

Swelling may not disappear immediately. It can last up to four months after your surgery. Dr. Broadway will monitor your progress and provide treatment if it is necessary. Meanwhile, you can take advantage of all that Dr. Broadway’s bod:evolve cosmetic surgery wellness rehabilitation center and gym have to offer to assist your recovery,.

Be prepared to sleep with your head and chest elevated for several weeks as this position will help to reduce swelling and pain. Sleeping on your side is discouraged, even in the elevated position.

If your implants sit high or feel too firm, rest assured they will settle and soften with time. Some women wear an elastic bandage to help push them down. Also, the breast on your dominant side may not settle as fast as the opposite breast. It is not uncommon for breasts to be slightly unlevel for as long as nine months.

Incision sites take several months to heal fully. At first they may appear pink and swollen, but will shrink and fade, becoming barely noticeable. Dr. Broadway will design a personalized care plan so that you will get the best results for diminished scarring.

Diet

Dr. Broadway’s breast augmentation Wellness and Recovery Program provides breast surgery nutritional supplements formulated specifically to give you the essential nutrients for recovery.

To help prevent swelling, reduce your salt intake, and drink plenty of fluids, especially water

Be careful to avoid the diuretics found in so many ordinary foods and drinks. Caffeine, alcohol and many herbals can dehydrate you. Maintaining your hydration is essential for healing and for beautiful skin.

Rest

Be sure to get plenty of rest. Sleep at least eight hours per night, and at regular times. Of course, you can expect to need more sleep in the weeks immediately after surgery, so pamper yourself and take those naps.

Exercise

Exercise should be gentle but regular. Moving and walking will help increase circulation needed for healing, and will reduce the chances of blood clots forming.

To minimize pain and encourage healing, avoid lifting, bending or straining until Dr. Broadway says you are ready for the increased stress on your body.
