If you are like many women, you have looked at yourself in the mirror and wished that your waist was a little more trim and your breasts a little more full. Before you read further, it is important to understand that a fat transfer to your breasts is not a good way to dramatically increase your breast size. The ideal candidate for a fat transfer to breasts is a woman who has excess fat she would like to remove and is interested in returning to a previous size or achieving a moderate increase in breast size (up to one cup size). Benefits

The benefits of a fat transfer to your breasts are many:

• Uses natural tissue
• Eliminates risk of implant rupture or leak
• Looks and feels natural because it is your own body’s tissue
• Procedure is usually complete in one day
• Fat transfer is an out-patient procedure
• Less bruising and swelling than breast augmentation or breast lift

There are also some disadvantages to breast enlargement using fat transfer. The results are limited, so a woman who has lost a lot of volume in her breasts may need a breast lift or breast implants instead. Also, like all fat transfer procedures, some of the fat may not survive, so you may need an additional procedure to get the results you desire. If too much of the transferred fat does not survive, you may experience dimpling in your breasts until your additional procedure.

Recovery

The recovery time for a fat transfer to your breasts is relatively short. Most women find they are able to return to regular activities within about a week, but it is recommended that you avoid strenuous activity initially. There may be some swelling and bruising, but it is limited, and because the fat is created by and returned to your body, there is no chance of an allergic reaction.
